Telefunken 688 WK Trop

Hey guys!

Just received my Telefunken from an Ebayer.

Question. I believe this set had a 3 pronged European power cord.
Someone spliced what looks like the end of a two pronged extension cord.

The set does not power up. I tested the two prongs with my multi-tester. No reading, I tested where the splice is and got a reading.

Is there something I should know about converting an European set over so I can use American outlets.

Thanks!
Mark

Mark,
I could not find anything on a model 688WK, put I did find a schematic for a 686WK.
It would only use a two wire cord with different taps on the power transformer for assorted voltages from 110 to 220V.
If you would like a copy of the 686WK schematic, click on my name above and e-mail me.
