I am having trouble discovering why the tuning eye of a RCA T 60 is not working. I have recapped checked all the resistors and they are in tolerance. The radio plays and seems to pick up stations ok. I checked voltages and discovered that Pin 4 of 6SA7 and pin 6 of the 6Sk7 are at 89 volts, but the schematic has them at 36 volts. I am using a Heathkit VTVM for measurements. I believe I checked the AVC because I measured the negative voltage increase on the gid of the 6SQ7 when I tuned in a stronger station. I am at a loss of what to check next. One more thing I checked the 6U5 tube at it seemed to check out ok. The filiments of the 6U5 do light up when the set is turned on. Thanks for any help.

It is not glowing at all except you can faintly see the filiments lit up.

:By "not working", does that mean is not glowing, or is glowing and not closing on stations?

Check the B+ voltage at pins 2 and 4 of the 6U5 socket. On pin 4 it should be around 270 volts according to the schematic.

:If I am numbering the pins correctly, pin 2 has 15 volts and pin 4 has 250. I say if I am numbering them correctly because it seems like I am numbering the opposite of what I normally do under the radio. I started at the dot and number one was counter clockwise. If I do it the otherway I get no readings. Is there something different about a tuning eye socket. Thanks for the help.

I have tried one other tube from another radio, but it is one that I have not restored it yet so I am not positive it is good. I am going to replace the 1 meg resistor in the socket, the original is measuring at 1.6 meg. At that point I may order a replacement tube. Thanks for the help!
:Ron, are you sure the tube isn't just worn out? The green phosphor material can wear out and fade to nothing if it has seen heavy use. Try running the radio in the dark, and you may see the tuning eye light weakly if this is the case. Btw, the 12uf cap should be fine to use in place of the 10uf...

All that's required for an eye tube to show green are filament lit, cathode grounded and around 250 volts on target, pin #4. Tubes lose their green glow after some use.
The 1 meg resistor between pin #2 and #4 has to be good to get eye movement but does not control amount of green. You may be seeing green only at the tuning wedge?
