Zenith 7S657R What is this part?

I've got to replace this burnt up part and I can't tell for sure what it is. It has axial leads. It's elongated like a resistor. It has metal caps on each end with a color coded dot on it. It's body is covered with wire mesh. Inside it has white powder and what looks like a wire in the center going from end to end. Any ideas?

Well, is it just a power resistor?

What does each end connect to?
Then compare to schematic and then check parts list.

Hi Peter...sounds simple enough. I'll see if I can do that. Trouble is, I'm not sure where one end went. One end tied to a standoff with another one just like it. I don't know if they were parallel or just one end in common. I know one is burnt in half and I thought someone out there may have seen one before.

According to Rider's schematic, R-1 is a 52 ohm wirewound resistor. It connects from ground to a common tie point with resistor R-2. The parts list, however does not indicate that R-2 is a wirewound resistor.

I hope this helps some.

Thanks Doug...that helps a bunch. I'll just match is with a resistor with the proper wattage rating. It was tied with one just like it on one end and I thought I unhooked the other end from ground but couldn't remember for sure. Thanks again!!!
