Just acquired a beautiful minty Philco 48-4721 (stamp on chassis) radio: 7 tubes, AM-FM. Dial lights. Tuner works but only scratchy sounds result. Need schematic and general information. Thanks!!

Hi Frank

That may be a part number of a bare chassis? Look at this list of possible model numbers. Go down to 48- and see if you have a number that matches? Do your tubes match any of these radios?

These are US Philco model numbers, Radios made in Canada and other countries have different schematics.

Could this possilby be a Philco 49-472-1? If so, the service bullitin can be found at www.audiophool.net/misc/philco_48-472.djvu
