Radio identification problem
5/8/2008 9:18:52 AMGuglielmo
Hello everybody,
recently I have purchased a Radio of the '30.
Wood cabinet, small dimensions it is similar to the Emerson mod.25A (but the top side is more flat).
In particular are identical to the 25A the two knobs and related metal circles.
The tubes set is : 6C6 6D6 6C6 43 25Z5.
On the rear of the chassis is glued a label (original?) which inform that the radio is a RCA made in JV with Hazeltine Corp.
Unfortunately the model number is not readable.

In the database aren't RCA with that tubes set and I haven't found any picture.

May please someone help me to identify this nice radio?
Eventually I can send some pictures of it.

Thanks in advance
Guglielmo

Guglielmo: The label you describe might for listing patents which the radio manufacturer licensed. That would make sense for RCA and Hazeltine, both of whom were major licensees. If so, the label doesn't point to the set's manufactuer.

Can you post a photo and link it for us? Somebody here might recognize it.

Doug,
thanks a lot.

The radio is visible at this address:

Here is the radio that Guglielmo is trying ti identify:

It looks vaguely familiar, but I can't say more. I leafed through Stine's four volumes, and didn't find it.

You might try the model cross-reference program by tube lineup: http://www.grillecloth.com/

Even if the cross reference doesn't point to your specific set, maybe you'll find a schematic with the same lineup that is close enough.

Thanks Doug,
probably I will use the Edison-Bell model 53 schematic as support to my radio restoration.

In the meantime I hope to discover the manufacturer at least.
