On the schematic of this radio, it shows an "antenna switch shown in wavemagnet position". There is another switch shown at the grid of the 1232 tube for "local distant switch on wavemagnet".

Are they the same switch?

I only see one switch on my wavemagnet (local/distant switch). Does the distant selection use the wavemagnet loops and local use the "A" terminal on the wavemagnet?

Thanks in advance!

Jay: my 11-S-474 has the same arrangement. It's one switch on the wavemagnet antenna. It's a sensitivity switch you can adjust for local conditions. Quoting from the instruction manual: "Although the Wavemagnet alone may be used for short wave reception, maximum results can only be obtained with the use of a designed aerial and ground"(A and G terminals).
