Belmont 6D111, series B

Question on my Belmont 6D111, series B. The radio has been recapped and works well. However sometimes when it's turned on the dial lamp flashes brightly (like a flash bulb) for few times. I have checked the bulb socket, wiring and replaced the bulb. Could this be a problem with the 35Z5 filament?
Thanks for you help.

Hi Sam,
It is normal. All AC/DC sets do this to some extent. This is because cold filaments have less resistance than warm ones, however, the resistance bulb filament doesn't change as much.
As a result the bulb gets a jolt at every turn on.
If you think it is excessive, check the resistor that goes between the bulb, it may be open.
