Hi, I've started restoring a Trav-ler 431 and found the variable tuning capacitor is way way out of wack. Is there an easy way to get it dialed in? it is a double with two adjusting screws. It looks like somebody went crazy turning the screws and then just gave up. Thanks Again, George.

As this is a TRF, all that is necessary is to find a station near the mid-high end of the band and adjust the trimmers for maximum sensitivity. Adjust until the stations line up properly first, and then go from there. Then check the low end and trim up until both the low end and the high end tune agreeably. Sometimes bending the outer condenser rotor plates is necessary to trim up the low end. Start with the portion that engages last. Don't bend condenser plates unless necessary.
