:: : I need any information I can get on this device that is a phonograph/radio/record maker Thanks
:
:I owned several of the Wilcox Gay recorder units in the late 30's and early 40s. in fact I still have some of the original recordings I made on both the cardboard wax covered records and their deluxe aluminum platters. We made records by using microphones as well as rcording music from the radio. I worked at the radio plant one summer while attending college, and was able to get lab samples at that time.
I'm no electician or radio engineer so i can't give you any technical details, but I knew both Mr Wilcox and Mr. Gay and enjoyed their products. Their experimental TV in about 1947 was the first one that I had a chance to sit down and watch.
Thsd were interesting times.
