601-s Sparton parts identification

My schematic does not really identify a flat metal encased cap/resistor that goes betweetn pins 2 & 3 of the35z5 tube or the cylindrical ...what appears to be wood encased power resistor between pins 2 & 8 of the same tube. The cylindrical object says 10w but I can't determine the ohms. Any help identifying these 2 items?? The biggest 10k power resistor I have on hand is only rated 2k ohms. Would really appreciate any help.

Could you mean 601-B?

It may be 601-5 or 601-S, but definitely not 601-B. The power resistors I have are 10W not 10K. Typo there. I'm sure the metal whatever is influencing things because I can't get the dial lamp to work.

mike, the only resistor in the parts list bigger than 1/4 watt is r14,a 1.8 k resistor.

R13 is actually .5 watt but that was readily identifiable. I think I'll use a 2k 10 watt power resistor as r14, but I still don't know what the flat metal clad object is between 2 & 3 of the 35z5 tube. Any ideas on what to place there?

from the desciption i'm guessing cap but don't see any listed in the schematic between those pins. are there any markings? can you post pic?

Computer giving me fits this morning. Took pics but after a little reading I have no idea whatsoever on how to post them.
