Grundig schematics

I have a Grundig Majestic 3160. All the tubes are lit and even the tuning eye is bright, but there is no sound, not even a hum. Is there a schematic available in the US. Did some Internet searches, but only got European sites. Any help much appreciated.

Hi Richard

Where was your Grundig-Majestic made? You are looking for a US schematic but doubt the radio was made in the US. If no one comes up with a schematic, list the tubes. There may be a similar circuit.

B+ voltage may be missing in your radio?

Hi,
the tuning eye is bright so there is B+.
The circuit is not very difficult to understand.
No hum?- Is the speaker still connected to the
output-transformer?
Check the voltages of the final-stage EL84/6BQ5
looking from below on the pins/socket's solder tabs.
Pin9 - Anode 250V
Pin7 - Screen 230V
Pin3 - Cathode 7V
Pin2 - Grid NO VOLTAGE !
If there is any voltage check the coupling capacitor.
Due to sound control circuits it is sometimes hard
to find.
So check Pin9 of the EABC80, anode of triode.
there must be something like 75V.
Check the capacitors connected to this point.
If there is a big resistor mounted on the output
transformer (1,3k ohms) check it's voltages.
The entire circuit exept anode of the final stage and
tuning eye is fed via this resistor.

BTW. Grundig is German made.

Hi,
i checked my old Grundig Revue and found that the
3160 had a push-pull amplifier.
Here is the How-To similar, but i don't know the
type of the final tube
It could be an ELL80 or two EL95.
