Ford 79MS Dead Tuning Motor

Hello All,
Is the tuning motor serviceable or do I have to find another. It won't turn even when a voltage is applied. Could it be just gummed up inside?

This is a different set from the one I mentioned before.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,
Yes, it is servicable. Clean the commutator and lightly dress the brushes to fit the commutator curved shape. Clean the shaft and bearings and very lightly oil with light oil. Be sure to keep track of the shaft spacers and placement. When re-assembling; make sure that the shaft spins freely while you tighten the bolts.

Hello All,
After exhausting all possible sources for parts, I will give up on making the signal seeker circuit work. But I need to disable that circuit, and turn this into a non signal seeker model. Could someone please outline which wires to disconnect so that it cannot be activated, and the radio will work manually?

Thanks,

Dave

Hows about getting the unit operational in the manual mode and then making the exclusion of that specific circuitry, via the consultation of the accompanying schema.
