As for a specific circuit, perhaps one of the AC/DC types, such as RCA 9-X-561/571, a Radiola 61-1, Most Philco Transitones 46-xxx through about 53-xxx, etc.
You essentially want to compare to schematics for what is called an "All American Five", if you are not using a transformer for the heaters, or if you are, you might want to look at "pre-war" economy radios, such as the 5, 6, or 7 tube Zeniths, Philcos, RCAs, and others.
Another good resource would be some of the old radio service books that were published, such as "Elements of Radio Servicing", by Marcus and Levy. Old ARRL handbooks are also of immense value too.
Electrodynamic speakers can be replaced with a suitably sized choke, or R/C network in the B voltage supply, and a suitable output transformer with correct impedances for plate loading and voice coil in the output stage.
: I am scratch building a tube radio. I want to incorporate a real speaker. I want to use a modern perminent magnent type. Can anyone direct me to a schematic that I could use as a template. Most of what I see is for the electrodynamic type.
: In the set I am building the phones would go between pin 2 of a 6sn7 and the 90+. I know I will need a transformer, 10K:8 ohms?, then maybe another tube to amplify, oh! a volume control,......sure would be easiar to see it on paper. Thanks.
