I am currently building the "Regenodyne" from the Glowbugs page. It uses octal tubes. My tube pin out diagrams for the 6J7, 6J5, and 6SN7GT all list pin one as "gr2 or as unused. My salvaged sockets all had pin one going to chassis ground. Should I do it that way? Thanks, Scot

You should ground pin #1 on the 6J5 and 6J7 tubes. If metal, this pin is connected to the outside shell. Do not ground pin #1 on a 6SN7GT. In this tube pin #1 is connected to Grid.

Hi Norm,
Thanks, Seemed logical, I just like to ask before I get myself in trouble. The project is coming along great. I have an all tube power supply in the same chassis, works great and is very quiet. Also a 60:1 home made reduction drive, all the tubes are mounted. They even glow! All the other compontents are mounted. I have been going very slow, checking every step. Making good solder joints, and making all the wiring look good and purposefull. I an using cable ties to keep all power wires against the case and bundling all like wiring with waxed string and 1/2 hitches, It looks like something from back then and I have high hopes it will perform well.
Thanks again,
Scot
