Jim, unlike some schematics, yours doesn't have alignment instructions or voltages: http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/033/M0025033.pdf

Tell us what you you are trying to do, and we can probably give you some pointers. Does the set now work? Is there a particular problem that you think alignment might fix?

This is a reasonably simple set, although it has three bands - so somebody here should be able to help.

Hi Jim,
The information that you need is listed under Philco 38-14, of course.

I don't see how you could be expected to know this. I don't know how I got to know it either, but the alignment instructions you need are in the lower right hand corner. Your chassis number 5634 is listed there, but not the model number.

For proper alignment you need to modify these instructions slightly. After this alignment you will likely hear 'birdies' in the reception. This is caused by oscillaiton of the IF stage. It is caused by too much gain and not enough band width. You need to detune the IFs slightly by turning one screw on the IF clockwise by 1/8 turn and its companion screw 1/8 turn counter clockwise. The birdie should then disappear. If it doen't turn another 1/8 turn.
If it is still there, write us back. There is something else wrong.

Best Regards,

Bill Grimm

Jim: I have the socket voltages chart and alignment info from the Zenith Service Manual for chassis 5634. I will send this to you as a pdf file. Good luck with your project.
Steve
