Heathkit TC-2 Simple Fix (Doug)
2/10/2008 1:35:54 PMKen
First I would like to Apologize to Doug Criner for a miss understanding on my part. Secondly I got a Heathkit TC-2 on ebay. Thanks! You mentioned a simple fix for AC line voltages that wouldn't zero adjust.

This might be a little easier to follow if you have a schematic, which should be available on bama.sbc.edu. But if not, you can still figure it out.

First, remove the TC-2 from the cabinet. Locate the rheostat that controls the line adj. There are three terminals on the rheostat. Terminal 2, the center tap, goes to the AC line. Leave that alone.

There is a black wire going to Terminal 3 from the 100V tap on the power xfmr primary. Lift that connection, and tape up the end of the wire. You're done.

There is also a black wire going from the 125V tap of the xfmr primary - leave that alone.
