Does someone have a schematic and parts list for a Canadian Northern Electric 552, and could tell me what value the electrolytics are?

Check out Northern Electric Data sheet 68 from this old Nos Air link. Capacitors 43 and 44 are 40ufd.

They should have kept the old files active.
The resolution is much better than most actual schematics. Just an observation.

I posted the link for Brian since I didn't see the pdf for the 552 listed presently under the Northern Electric schematics in Resources.

The old Riders gif's are still there and are archived by Volume as in following link.

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/resources/r00000001.htm

To access the later volumes change the number 1 after the last 0 before .htm to a number up to 9 and drop that last zero and change that to 1 or 2 for the volumes after nine as in.

As for that test post (KW) I was just trying to figure how A Valid Name escaped the box. 80)

Thanks for the hint ! As for escaping the box you must think "outside the box" 8o).

A previous poster made an involuntary goof while posting, with the result you see here. I just had a look at the HTML source and found the reason within seconds ( I teach HTML/PHP ). HTML adopts strange -and interesting- behaviour when used improperly"....

Seems to me that:

"HTML adopts strange -and interesting- behaviour when used improperly"....

also when used properly sometimes.

Brian I have the Origional Northern Electric Service Bulletin for that radio. If you give me your email address I can scan it and send it to you. Its three pages and also covers the model 550.
