:Newbie question. Restoring a model 620; part 52, 16 MFD electrolytic is being bypassed with new 16uf cap, I see where the components attach to the positive side of the cap but is there anywhere in particular where I should connect the negative side of the new cap, is the chase frame OK or should I use a specific ground point. Please advise, your help is greatly appreciated.

:It appears that the chassis is where the negative of the cap is to go. Often times on Philcos there are solderable ground connection points attached with rivets to the chassis. Looks like cap #52 is located near the 78 tube which has a few of it's pins connected to ground you may be able to attach to as well.

: Dave, when you say by pass you do not mean you are using the same terminals are you? The new cap can not use the old cap terminals as you will be parralleling the old cap and it will still be in the circuit. PL
