Old Radios

When I listen to or work on old radios from the 30's and 40's I wonder how many times families have heard of the tough times of the Great Depression, President Roosevelt signing the Social Security Act into law, and the start of WW2 and also the peace signing.

I always wonder how many people were lestening to some of my older sets and had the ba-jesus scared out of them the night War Of The World was aired. The emotions you get when listening to these old time radios to me is second to none. I like to tease my wife I tell her I'm just buying back the radios I owned in a former life. LOL

: I remember when I acquired my first radio from the 40s. My wife said, "You mean it only picks-up stuff like Glenn Miller?" LOL Of course, when we first met, I commented on the plant in her living room. "Is that a rubber tree?" "No," she said, "It's real." LOL again....love at first sight!!!
