Solid state 1L6 replacement question
1/13/2008 11:27:11 PMMark
Does anyone have experience with these replacements.
The 1L6s are really getting expensive.

Thanks!

Many are using the solid state replacement but believe cost is almost the same as a 1L6.

Bill Turner sells a 1LA6 replacement with adapter for $18.00. You can easily make one but Bill supplies the adapter, loctal socket and tube for this price.

Thanks Norm!

I went to Bill's site. Wow! Bill lives just across the Missouri River from me. I'll have to pay him a visit.

Thanks!

In addition,if you have an old Realistic brand 1L6, the company (Radio Shack) will replace them for free if unbroken. Lifetime guarantee.

:Thanks Norm!

Hi Greg, and thanks for the information. Unfortunately my 1L6 is a Zenith.

Regards!

I bought one from Bill a year or so ago for my TO L600. Works great.

I read that a 1U6 can be used to replace a 1L6 except that a 56 ohm resistor must be added across the filament pins (1;7) to compensate for the different filament current.

Hey guys!
Just purchased a 1L6 replacement from Bill Turner.
The ole Y600 is up and running.

I discovered Bill lives just across the Missouri River from me.

What a nice and knowledgeable guy.

Thanks again!!

Mark
