Philco Radio Record Player 48-1264
1/3/2008 11:11:30 PMBob E.
I have a Philco 48-1264 Console missing the record player. It has the chassis mount and the access door pulls down as it should to display the record player but it is missing. I see a Philco 48-1253 record player on eBay that I think could be a match for this console. What do you guys think?
thanks, Bob

Bob,
The service info shows the 48-1253 using an M-8 turntable and the 48-1264 using a D-10 turntable.
I don't know how different they might be.

The other half of the 48-1264 schematic, page 19-93 can be downloaded from this page:

Looking at the Service page 19-93,94 for the 48-1253 I see that it references the 48-1264 in figure 7. I thought maybe that might be a clue but I do not know for sure either. I also notice a tag on my cabinet that has a part number 1 digit different at the last digit as the unit on eBay. At any rate they must have been manufactured very close to the same time.
