Thanks,

All paper and filter capacitors have been replaced in this radio. It sounds fantastic.
To Walter and All,
Has anyone had this problem before? What did you do? Was the rotor just dirty? If I find out, I'll let anyone know.
Thanks,
Dave
:Hello All,
: There is a second spring connected to the motor switch. I don't know where it goes. It's just hanging in space on the dial cord near that large device (switches) over the tuning capacitor. It must attach to something in that area, but I can't find it. When is the motor supposed to come on? I replaced the motor start capacitor but I'm not doing something right. Maybe those contacts are dirty. Maybe that spring keeps the dial cord taught through the ends of the switches. Is this power assisted tuning, like power steering in a car? I don't see any presets.
: I cannot seem to find any service data for this radio anywhere. Why are there two buttons for the same FM band? Where is the FM oscillator adjustment? The band is supposed to start at 88 but instead it starts at around 93.
: Please help if you can.

:Thanks,

:Hello Dave,
:I have this same set over here in Germany and just want to give you a few hints on operation.
:1. The motor drive is used to tune to a stored location
:2. When the switch "Motor Abstimmung" is AUS, tuning the set is normal.
:3. When this switch is set to EIN, the motor starts up and tunes to a position where it was left last.
:4. When you want to set to a new station, set switch to EIN and then tune manually to the desired station. In most cases the dial drive is too weak to overcome the slip-clutch in the memory system, so helping it from the back will be OK for the time being.
:5. FM has two buttons for retrieving two different stations, all others only have one pre-set. Medium wave is split into two bands. I have the diagram for it somewhere, please mail for it to siegfried(at)raedel(dot)com. Regards Siegfried
