Philco 40-201 Schematic
10/25/2007 10:03:51 PMBruce Walters
Anyone have a readable version?
Someone has done a lot of messin' with this beast and the component values are hard to read and unreliable because I don't know which have been changed. I have the Nostalgia Air copy of the schematic for this huge monster, but there are several places where I can't read the schematic very well. Does anyone have a really clean copy of this that they could email to gptwo@cox.net. I was able to get the pushbuttons and the cabinet is pretty clean (after a refinish), this will be gem if I can figure out whats wrong. Oh, and find all the crappy solder joints that the previous owner created.

You probably already tried here:

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel/342/M0013342.pdf

Click on top to enlarge the schematic. I can make out just about all of it at 300%.

You can find 40-200 here:

http://techpreservation.dyndns.org/schematics/40/40_Philco_40200_88.djvu

You will need the djvu program, free on the internet. Philco 40-195, 200 & 201 use the same schematic.

::Try this site for Philco Service Bulletins. If 40-200 is the same schematic, it is on this site.

Thanks to all for the help. Carl sent me a schematic that was very clear in the power supply area and that was where I couldn't read mine. Funny thing, I always start at the filter CAPS and go from there, but this one acted too different, so I knew it must be something lese! But, I replaced both filter CAPS (once I knew what they should be) and it works. Crazy how these stupid radios wont work with unfiltered AC.
