Hi All, Am just getting started in this hobby and have an old zenith 8H034. I need to replace the electrolytic caps in the power supply. They seem to run into a can. is there any way to take this can off and replace them or do you have to get rid of it and just let them "hang " out in the open. John

You can replace them in three ways:
1-Use individual caps and terminal strips. Negative for all three caps is common. OK to reuse this, but you must disconnect the positives for all three from the old cap. Leave the old cap in place for appearance.

2-Replace the guts of the old cap, and put the new ones inside. This is known as "restuffing" and a bit more advanced.

3-Try to purchase a replace can type electrolytic capacitor. Not all values are available, and they can get pricey sometimes.

Usually easiest to go with option 1
