Gloritone 99-B

I am having power supply problems with this radio as the previous owner tried to install electrolytics and messed up all the wires for the 2 electrolytic caps. I am trying to read the schematic that your web site provides, but I cannot read the wiring clearly around the power supply to trace the wires and correct the problem, which is that I get no voltages to the tubes. Any suggestions?

Hi,
If you are working right off from your computer screen, when you bring up the page view for your Gloritone, "click" on the area where the schematic is opening, and you will get a much larger screen view that shows those details well.

Hi Dave, I've sent you the schematic for the US RAdio & TV model 99, I'm not sure if that's the same as your set. They made Gloriatone, Gloritone was made by Transformer Corp of America but I can't see any model 99 in Riders. If so it might be more readable. If you have a Riders volume and page number I can send it to you. When you say there's no voltage to any tubes, is there any heater voltage (do the tubes light up). You should be able to get B+ voltage on the rectifier cathode (filament) even if it's not filtered or passed on to the rest of the set. If it uses a dynamic speaker check the field coil is OK, if it's open it won't pass B+ to the rest of the set. Normally the field connects the rectifier DC output to the rest of the set, should go to the speaker transformer and output screen grid (if it's a pentode / tetrode). Cheers, Don Black.
