I am looking for a schematic for: Hallicrafters Model S-38EM. Tube list is difference from the S-38 series listed here. Tube list is: 35W4, 5OC5, 12AV6, 12BA6 & 12BE6.

Can anyone help?

There is a schematic for a Halli S38EMKII at:

It uses the 7-pin mini tubes.

This was the last in the series of Halli-Scratchers...S-38's, the S-38E. manufactured from 1957 - 1961.

Your series being the last of the Red Hot Mamma's....(AC/DC chassis)....versus the earlier '38 sets using GT sizing of tubes and being power transformer powered.

Your set having a BFO to adapt to the reception of SSB and CW signals, along with its slide rule dial introduced with the S-38D, versus the older generations with their circular dials.

Tube lineup functions are: 12BE6 Converter---12BA6 I.F. Amp and BFO osc---12VA6 Det and AFamp---50C5 Audio Output amp---35W5 Power rectifier

There are 2 models of S-38E , EM and the EB. The M has its My-Hog-Annie colored cabinet and the B , being a beige colored cabinet.

Hopefully .......this is a pix of your unit ?..........(but yours being void of the rust spotting !)
