I have a small console with no identifying marks other than "Hamilton Lloyd" embossed on the dial plate. It is a 7-tube set with the lineup: 80, 47, 27, 55 and three 58's. Fortunately, ths chassis was virgin, so I was able to accurately recap by what was there. It looks like a set that might have been made for a department store. All I can find online is Hamilton Lloyd watches with no reference to a store. Anybody have an info on this radio - ie., what/who was Hamilton LLoyd, who possibly made the radio, schematic, etc.Thanks...

Check schematics under Plaza Music Co. on this site. I don't see the exact tube line up but the Model 7 Super may be similar.

Steve,
As the kids say today - "my bad" - I pulled that chassis just to make sure - and it is a '56' rather than a '27' marked on the socket - the other tubes I listed are correct. The set is very close in physical properties to a Macy's (Bamberger's) set made by Freed that the great guys on this forum recently identified for me - it has similiar chassis material, sockets and tuning cap however it is a near mirror image with components that are on the right on one chassis are on the left the other - on one the tuning cap frame is mounted horizontally - vertically on the other. A schematic would be nice but it was pretty much virgin when I got it so accurate recapping was not hard. I was really interested in a bit of history as well - what/who was Hamilton Lloyd and how did it relate to this radio???

Interesting. I only mentioned Plaza Music Co since the radiomuseum.org website listed Plaza Music as the maker for Hamilton Lloyd. Perhaps they had others as well. Good hunting.
