After my last radio redo, I'm running low on caps. I used to pick them up at shows or buy from Everett Hoard in North Dakota - but he's been threatening to quit for years and I don't know if he's still in the business. Who currently has the best deals and good service? All recommendations welcomed. Thanks

Bill,
I buy most of my caps from Mouser.com
Another source with a good selection is justradios.com

I use Dave at www.justradios.com
He has the best all around prices ... and offers groups or kits as well as loose one at a time.. $15 minimum.

I have bought all ways. The BEST bargains he has there are the GREEN dipped Mylar caps... they are great quality and best prices.

Bill,
If you're trying to retain original looks inside, then the dot mica caps are needed, and many are available from PTOP (http//www.oldradioparts.com)If not, then dip mica caps are available from many sources as noted below. Paper/foil/wax styles are usually replaced with newer versions. Some purists even remove the old cap and save the tubular enclosure, then put the new cap inside.
