The can may contain a 2, 4, 8 (or only 8's) and 3 - .1 mf caps used in the power supply. Go by the schematic to find out where 7 leads are connected. You can use 10 mf @ 450 volt electrolytics to replace 2, 4 and 8 mf caps. Are you looking at this schematic?

I would leave the original can in place. Just cut wires and add replacement caps under the chassis.

:Hi All,
: I am working my way through this radio an have hit a wall. I have replaced all the non electrolytics but I can't make the cap can match up to the schematic. The schematic shows two 8 mfd,s but the can has seven leads. The can has a label that says Aerovox 16.25 mfd Can Negative. By the serial number I think it is the later run. It looks like fron photos on the internet, that there were two types of chassis. This one has the larger can. It is soldered shut and I don't want to a hack job on it. What I can't figure out is why there are seven leads for two caps? Tube line up is 4-224's, 45 and 80. Any help is greatly appreciated.
