:You're right,it's a .15 mf cap wrapped by a coiled wire....It's barely visible on the diagram because it's so dark. Part/description E1.Thought about just replacing the cap, but this old thing works great..so far!

:I'm blind...I"M BLIND....I can't see the unit... but probably only the cap ...if at all....might be suspect in that application of a series LC filter duo in the IF circuitry and that capacitive value is DECIMAL 15. If you just had to replace the unit you might gut the center capacitor core "innards" and insert a physically smaller sized new generation cap unit within the cavity and utilize the original winding, which is probably not having a great amount of turns being incorporated.
