.25 uf ...better of the two substitute? .22 uf or .47 uf or no difference

Would a .22 uf or a .47 uf be the better replacement
for a .25 uf capacitor? This is in a Truetone D2615

If you mean C6 from B+ to ground.... a .22uf will be fine.

Yes I was referring to C6. I "thought" a .22 uf substitution would be ok.
Is it generally acceptable to be within 20% of the
original value...even if it is below the original value?
Or does it's position in a schematic have more to do with what balue would be acceptable?

20% is usually fine.
.. and yes the location in the circuit is important to consider before jumping to a significant value change.
