I've been unable to find any information on this tester... anybody know where I might be able to find a manual or schematic for this unit?

Here is another link to a company that sells tube testers and manuals. You might try them.

Well I guess my first problem that somebody may be able to give me some ideas on... is the needle seems to be stuck and will not move.. it tries to.. but it just won't move... upon taking it apart I noticed that the spring coiled over the top of the needle looks to have been damaged... I doubt I will be able to find a replacement for the entire needle assembly... so is there anything that I can use to fix/ replace this?

Dan,
Can't say I know exactly what you're describing, but sounds like the internal movement of an old analog meter. There is a spring, much like the spring on a clock/watch balance wheel. One end of the spring is attached to the pointer and the other end to a movable lever to adjust the zero point. There are a couple references to clock parts sites (dial glass) on these postings, and if you are inclined to repair the meter itself, a similar spring may be available at a clock site.
