George,
All of Allied's radios/kit were sold under the Knight name. I couldn't find your p/n under Knight in Resources, but doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Use Knight in all your searches.

George: there's a listing for a manual on the Boat Anchor Manuals website for a Knight Kit A2516. Perhaps this is similar to your radio or a later version. Check it out and see if this helps.

Also, additionally, if your "dire" consequences are also indicative of not having a hi-speed internet connection for rapid access, whereupon otherwise you might have to be using a dial up and only be getting a fluctuating 12-30 k-byte download on a 4.5 meg file...IF and when you can get onto that site.

I can give you a thumbnail fill in on the mentioned reference, to see if it might jive enough to be applicable info wise with your unit.
Its certainly not a "nostalgic" old BC band SW receiver as is usually knocked about here.
Instead, it is a ham band dedicated receiver of 80 / 40 / 20 / 15 and 10 M (tuned as three segments) that is housed within a
13"w x 7" hi X 10' deep case....sort of roughly resembling a "Collins" knock off - wannabe.

Pictoral frontal case REF......HERE

Tube wise and SS wise it is incorporating :

6BZ6...RF amp

6BL8...1st Mix and Local Osc

6BE6...2nd Mix ...(paired with a 2SC185 xstr buffer and a 2SC185 xstr VFO Osc )

Mechanical filter

6BA6...1st IF amp

Mechanical filter

6BA6...2nd IF amp

IN60 ger diode...............AM detection

SM-150-01 diode .........ANL

OA95 diode................... AVC

6AQ8...Product Det and BFO

6BM8..AF Pre-Amp and AF Power Output

8 Ohm Z output for EXTERNAL speaker

I also have that file in storage and could also J-pegg off a magnified schema ..to be less bandwith engaging.... should you need a prelim one of the basic schematic prior to getting the fully referenced one, if its acqusition does prove to be a a problem.
That is, IF it happens to be the same unit, or possibly your unit merely might be a full coverage BC-band thru 30 Mhz SWL type of receiver.

Nevermind Edd. They are not similar. I don't think the Allied A2515 was a kit, and is identical to some of the Lafayette SW radios with hamband bandspreads, all made by Trio-Kenwood. I think if he can find the manual for the Lafayette twin, it would be the same. I had one of the Lafayette versions, and it was a pretty hot receiver for SW.
Specs:
Allied Shortwave Communications Receiver Model A-2515

Controls: AM/AM ANL/SEND/CW - SSB
AF gain
BFO control has USB & LSB
RF gain control
Band select with 0.15-0.40 ~ 0.55-1.6 ~ 1.6-4.8 ~ 4.8-14.5 ~ 10.5-30
Antenna trim
Main tuning
Band spread
You can click on the picture link for it on the webpage at: http://www.nostalgickitscentral.com/allied/products/knight_radio.html
I believe it is virtually identical to the Lafayette HA-230 receiver or one of its many variants whose manual can be downloaded from the BAMA website (http://bama.sbc.edu/).

George: after doing some more research, I believe the Lafayette HA-700 receiver is the twin to your radio. Both the Allied and Lafayette versions were made by Trio-Kenwood. You can download the HA-700 manual from the BAMA website (http://bama.sbc.edu/) in Deja Vu format. Check and see if your tube line-up is the same. The front looks identical. There's also an original Lafayette HA-700 manual on Ebay (item # 160149277642) due to expire within the next day.
Hope this helps.
