Serial No - 88195
Part No - 523456-21
Model - 603-1802
Now this thing was running nice until my kid ripped the needle out. So basically my questions are:
A.) What can you tell me about this record player.
B.) What kind of needle do I need.
C.) Where can I get that needle?
I have pics too if needed.
Thanks so much for any info. I also inherited a buch of records too, so I'm pumped to fix this thing so I can listen to some tunes.
Thanks again,
Nathan
So far I have not been able to locate any technical info on your phono..........however, this is a pretty good place to shop for needles / stylii

I wonder?
:I inherited a Magnavox Micromatic. I don't know anything about record players, but after reading some threads on this forum I popped the back off and found the serial numbers. This is what I found.

My player looks just like the one here:

Except no radio.
I'll have to head over to radio shack tonight and see what I can find.
Thanks again,
Nathan
:Hi Nathan,
:Your record changer is covered in SAMS 848-5. However it's no help in determining the cartridge or needle. You could go to Radio Shack site and look over their needles and probably match up one. If you find your needle order from a RS store and no shipping charge. Many good sellers on ebay but RS will normally be cheaper. Or remove the cartridge and get the number, this will help. Or get the number of the tuner, a paper label and perhaps ink stamped on chassis. That number may lead to SAMS data and that data may tell cartridge and needle required.

SAMS data, Howard W. Sams started publishing tech data on electronic items is 1946. Commonally referred to as SAMS. The data for your changer contains disassemply, operating instructions, parts list, troubleshooting and whatever. The SAMS site http://www.samswebsite.com/ might tell you more. They would charge about $22 for the eight pages of your SAMS. But you can get a copy at larger libraries. Or I can provide you a copy. Depending on my scanner's mood I may have to mail to you and you copy and return. Looks like you are on the right track for the stylus. I would be interested in the model number and chassis numbers of your set if you have them.
