I have an 8G005 that works well on the AM broadcast band but does not receive any stations on any of the SW bands (only a barely audible hiss). Any suggestions on where to begin troubleshooting?

Make sure band switch contacts have been cleaned.

Measure filament voltage on the 1LC6 tube, between pins #1 and #8. It should be around 1.4 volts. Much less and the tube will not oscillate on short wave bands.
