Website access problems
7/18/2007 4:34:34 PMSteve - W9DX
I haven't been able to access the website directly for about a week now, and had to go via a proxy server to get here. There seems to be a problem between Comcast and one of the Miami routers. Rich is aware of the problem and has asked Level3.net to check it out. No doubt others using Comcast may be having similar difficulties.

Good to see you contacted Rich and at least found a way to post. Some of us have been posting and haven't had problems. No way of knowing who else can't get on.

Steve, I wonder if you were using the Firefox browser? I was unable to make Firefox work with the NA forum, so I use IE.

No, I'm using IE 7.0. It was working fine till last week then all of a sudden I couldn't get here. But since you asked, I did try Firefox and it opened right up! Same with Netscape 7.1. Rich and I thought it was a router and/or Comcast problem since he couldn't ping my IP address, but now I don't know what to think. Seems I have the reverse situation you had. @*&#? Microsoft!

Problem solved! From a command prompt do: "ipconfig /flushdns" to dump the dns resolver cache. Somehow it got a bad entry. It should have cleared itself in 24 hours, but didn't. That cleared up the problem. Dumping temp files, renaming HOSTS file, hitting refresh didn't work. Thought I was going nuts.
