WLS Tube

Did WLS have their own tube numbers? I have a WLS tube
in my Freshman and it has a 19 on the base and no other
numbers. It looks like the ux-201a exactly. I believe
the 19 was a 6 pin dual triode. Is it the same as the
201a?

Yes, WLS tubes had their own numbering system, Sears catalog numbers I suppose. The UX201A was a 2976 or 4600, according to Lud Sibley's "Tube Lore."

Yes, WLS did have their own numbers, usually 4 digits. WLS was Sears Roebuck & Co. and UX-201A number is 2976. A standard 19 is 6 pins.
