I am in process of restoring an old console radio... it is a TRF set with two RF stages using 24A tubes with two 27s as detector and 1st AF and a pair of 45s in push pull for audio output. It is in Riders volume 1. Does anyone know approximate date of manufacture?

I started working in radio repair about 50 years ago and retired as a senior network analyst. Have several old boat anchors to fix up (in my spare time ;-)) Please email any info you have. I just restored the cabinet in my cabinet shop (other hobby) as it had quite a bit of water damage. The radio plays but is pretty distorted.. tubes check pretty good so it gets a capacitor job next.

Hi Erenest

Would expect the radio to be made 1929 or 1930. In 1928 a radio would have used 71A for output and triodes for RF stages. After 1930 later tubes would have been used.
