Hi All!
Heres the tube line up: 6AU4-Damper, 5U4-Rect., 6W6-Audio Amp, 6SN7-Horizontal Oscillator, 6DQ6-Horizontal Output, 12BH7-Vertical Oscillator, 12AU7-Sync Amp, 1B3-HV Rect., 6BS8-RF Amp, 6BZ6-1st I.F. Amp, 6CB6-2nd I.F. Amp, 6CL8-RF Mixer, 6BN6-Discriminator, 6AW8-Video&Sound I.F., hope this helps in identifying what model Olympic Television Set I have here.

Hi Mark
This isn't much but several of those tubes aren't in a 1954 manual, 6BS8, 6CL8, 6DQ6. This would make your TV 1955 or a little more recent. Would expect late 1950's?
It was suggested to look at date codes on tubes. Seems like a good idea if you have any original Olympic marked tubes. Tubes were marked with the name Olympic although made by RCA and others.

:Hi Again Norm
I also have some numbers off the chassis, don't know if this will help or not, but here they are: DB 5
& Run2 644., the sticker that was on the side of the HV Rect housing was removed, in fact, it looks like someone diliberatly scraped it off! the same goes for the sticker on the back panel of the cabinet.

I believe you expect right Norm. Olympic chassis DB is covered by SAMS 365-10, dated Jul 1957. Mark, if you don't have 365-10 or one easy to get to, I'll send you one you copy and return. E-mail shedradios at comcast dot net.

There is an Olympic "DB" listed in Sam's Photofact #365-10. This would be about right for your tubes, 1957.
Check with your local library for Sam's information. Most can get Sam's Photofact from a main library.
If not Sam's sells information by calling 800-428-7267. They might be able to match up tubes with the schematic over the phone?

Hey, Mark. I have an assortment of TV tubes that I don't need - came in a tube caddy that I bought a few years ago. Let me know if there are any specific tubes of yours that are bad, and I'll send them to you. No 6SN7, sorry.
Let me know ASAP, because I just pitched about half a dozen that were taking up room, in anticipation of a move - but the garbage man doesn't come 'til Thursday.

Sir Mark:
As per the Olympic being BUILT by Hazeltine...au contraire.. they would merely have been extending licensing rights for some of their circuitry patents to the Olympic company.. As well, possibly RCA also, as they were also heavily involved in secondary licensing use of their patents.
Olympic shows to have been a New York based firm in business from 1941 thru ~1971. The company had initially started with radios in ~1941 and presented their first 10 inch TV's in 1948 with the move into "big screen" 12 inch and 16 inch sets in 1949.
Another thing to examined for info on your unit is the construction of the chassis , pictures reveal the chassis wiring to be solely hand wired up thru the years up to 1959-62 and by 1966-69-71 the chassis was almost completely fabricated with major printed circuit board sub-assemblies being utilized.
Now at some time in its later years, it seems that EITHER they were possibly merged with or taken over by NEC of Japan. As, in their final years they were dependent upon the utilizion of the NEC chassis in their TV units. Be it the whole set being a NEC unit or merely the stuffing of that chassis into their cabinets.
AS STATED previously, after now having stated your sets tube complement, check for any code dates on orig units tubes.....and heck...I would guess that the label for the picture tube and its 19VALP4 that you found would also have a code date on it, or in the earlier years, the base of the pic tube possibly could be code dated. As well , the best last bet would be the code dates acquired from the canned electrolytics in the unit.
The above units markup tells us that the unit has a 232 EIA manufacturer coding and its production date was the 22nd week of 1960
Also, with your stated tube line-up, its suggesting of 50-60 -ish tubes and the use of a power transformer vice the later AC-DC series string tubes. If I have a code date, to thereby zero in to ~ 1 year or 2, the search can thuis be narrowed, otherwise its TOTALLY beyond the time element of individually researching a potential 20 years of Olympic schemas.
