Wells-Gardner

Does anyone know if Wells-Gardner Co. made radios for various department stores back in the 1930's and 40's? I'm trying to repair a 1A29 for a friend, and the name on the front is "Aria" but it's all Wells-Gardner behind the wooden knobs. I am trying to get an idea where this thing may have been purchased originally.

Ever heard of Allied Stores in New York? Aria was their private brand.

I have a small floor console with the brand name of "Pontiac" that has a Well-Gardner model A15 chassis
They also made most of the Airline brand for Montgomery Wards. I have run across many no-name radios that came from W-G,they must of been in the brand manufacturing buisiness as they did not seem to produce very much under their own name.

W-G was located in Chicago. There in still a Well-Gardner here - I think they manufacture touch screens. Their building is on 55th Street in McCook or Countryside.

For a short time, I seem to think they built TVs.
