FM Radio antenna

I have a pretty good FM radio I would like to increase range. PBS sold their local station and the other pbs station is at the edge of what I can pick up. This radio has a 300 ohm antenna input. I am looking for something beside a diapole outside or glued to the ceiling.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Best would be a VHF TV antenna. Yagi or log periodic, pointed in the direcetion of the station.

Before you done wents and spends all of your money....aka....big bux...try this for a
preliminary evaluation of the signal strength /vs/ requirement compatability.
Spend your whole $1 at the "Amellican Dollah Store" to get yourself some common 300 twin lead
and cut to the dimensional length as shown.... with the bottom feed line of adequate length
to get to the receiver. Three operations, cut slightly overlength to permit butt splices at
the ends to make shorted stubs. Cut into the centerpoint as shown to enact an inline splices
there into one of the conductors.
Temporatrily make a "T" pole of small wood pieces to tack the antenna wire onto. When you get
thru, it should look like your body with outstretched arms.
The pick up pattern for the antenna will be just like your body is arranged..like if you are
looking forward, that direction ( and also from the rear) is where the max FM pick up will occur
whereas the minimum would be from off the directions of your arms.

By doing this procedure you may be receiving like gangbusters with just this simple antenna,
with mounting height enhancing reception..versus its laying on the floor.

Try it you will like it....at least Mikie did !

Edd,

I bet if he posted the frequency of the distant station that the dimension of the antenna could be adjusted to maximize reception of the station.

The way Edd suggests is exactly what I'm very happy with on my FM. Picks up stations in stereo about sixty miles away. Length doesn't seem to be too critical to me. Doesn't work very well off the ends of the antenna. Isn't supposed to.
