Hoping someone can help me with voltages, in particular plate voltage on the detector, should it not be lower than others, mine shows 70+ volts.
Would this account for low and distorted volume overall?
Thanks

I don't have a schematic but detector is usually supplied from a separate battery wire. US radios use 22 1/2 or 45 volts on this wire. Your 70 volts should still work as long as the detector isn't a 200A, gas, tube.

A schematic can be emailed but we need your email address.

Ed sent me a copy of your radio schematic. The detector plate has 21 volts on this print. Depending on meter loading you might read higher..

Check resistors and caps around the 1LD5 tube. Screen voltage may be missing?

Either of us can forward you the schematic but need an email address.

Ed, Norm,

Thank you for your assistance, I obtained a schematic today and found an open 6.8 meg resistor open on pin 3. I now have 29 v. on the detector plate and 17v. on pin 3.
