Hello All,
I had the idler rebuilt and seem to have forgotten how it all goes back together. A picture would help.

Thanks,

Dave

Edd,
That's the correct SAMs for the VM 1228 but it turns out that somone "turned the tables on us" and put another VM turntable in that base. The one I'm working on has both sections of the idler the same diameter. The assembly that the idler goes on, installs upside down, I seem to remember.

Thanks,

Dave

Edd,
I have it working. I even had the original VM service data, and there's no model 1228. All the models covered have idlers with much larger diameters. There must be a separate set of service data for the 1228 somewhere. But I don't need it anymore.

Thanks,

Dave

Hello Again All,
Somehow, the overarm won't stay up high enough to detect a single record, so the turntable shuts off sometimes after dropping a rectord. Has anyone had this problem before? What can I do about it? I suggested bending the over arm or putting a rubber bumper on it's under side, which would solve the problem. But its owner says that this fix is unacceptable, and will not allow me to do these things. What should I do?

Thanks,

Dave

Oops, I spelled record wrong. It came out rectord. Please ignore the t. Thanks, Dave

Edd,
Researching the idler I find that that idler is in the early V-M Model 1200 changers, which is in SAMs 290-11. So that's probably the SAMs it's in. The changer in SAMs 436 and the changer that's supposed to be in the 1228 base is a later model. As I had said someone "Turned the tables" on us and put a Model 1200 changer in the 1228 base.

Thanks,

Dave
