Make sure C101 has been installed with the correct polarity. The plus goes to the plate(s) of the rectifier. I would suggest the voltage rating be at least 200 volts or better.

:Hello All,
: I have replaced all the paper and filter capacitors in this set. I want to replace the dial lamp but I don't know which one to replace it with. All I have is the philco part number 36-2605. It can't be a 47 because it burns out after a short time. Maybe 44 or 55?
: Yes, I'm not ruling out a mistake I may have made. But in a circuit like that (hot chassis), if there is a mistake "Poof", the rectifier filament would open up too. But the rectifier is working great. No problem even when the lamp is open. This is a kind of voltage "doubler" circuit as well. I like this circuit but I like one with a power transformer better.

This radio uses 150 ma heater tubes. The correct lamp would be #47. Something is drawing too much current. The 50Y7 circuit is a voltage doubler. Replace the electrolytic caps if you haven't already.
As Radiodoc mentioned be sure voltage rating is high enough. Use 450 volt if they fit and are available.
