I have an old RCC TV book, Number 211 for part of 78. It lists a C37 20" (C37 - CBO/CCO) and C37 20 " Deluxe (C37-CAO). Your -701 number is not shown. I only have a few RCC's of that year and may be missing what you need. There are 2 two page schematics and many references to another model C36 in the same book for the auxiliary boards and adjustments.
The signal and power boards of those two are numbered SY-1108 and SY-1111. The other boards may have been shared by other models.
There is too much to scan and email but if you email your address to me I will loan you the book to see if it will help. I can mail it on Monday when the post office opens.

1) Check the Horizontal Output Transistor. When these fail, the set goes dead just as you describe, and this is one of the most common failures. This will be either the only one, or one of the few TO-3 case style transistors in the set. It is also cheaper to replace (if you do it yourself) than purchasing the schematic.
2) Sams publishing does list 2 sets of Photofacts that might be your set, however the only designation is "701". ( http://www.samswebsite.com )
Photofact 894 (folder 5 of the set) and 1043(folder 3 of set).
: Model is Electrohome C37-701 Executive; made by Victor
: Co. of Japan which I believe was from RCA but became JVC.
: I need the part # of the main transformer or its replacement.
: A schematic would help me find the correct alternative.
: We had this great TV since I bought it new in 78.
: Picture was fantastic until it suddenly went black
: yesterday. It is our family TV, colors were so perfect
: and it had one of the first remote control (an add-on
: box that snaps in the back with a huge connector, box
: is ~9x5x2 in.).
: remote is not infrared like all new ones, I believe it
: is an ultrasound device).
: I would prefer to keep it rather than getting a new one
: that will last only a few years.
: Thanks,
: PS NostalgiaAir is a great site, since I studied
: electronics when there were still tubes, I like this.
