Hi, I am trying to locate the manufact. of a radio I recentley purchasced. The dail says Clipper on it with the outline of a DC3 flying. The tube lineup consist of 6 tubes but they appear to be wrong as there are 2 35Z5GT's and a ballast tube but it probably was similar to a aa5. The past owner stated that it made a funny smell the last time he turned it on, I just cannot imagine.......
Any ideas?

Hi, Kris. Can you take a photo of it, and link it here?

Zenith had a Transoceanic, "Clipper" model, but it doesn't match your description.

It is not a Transoceanic but is more similar to a small late 30's-mid 40's AA5 wooden radio. I have never posted a picture here so I would need some guidnace.

Kris, there are several freebie image-posting sites, which you can Google for (e.g., "free image posting"). I use ImageShack:
http://www.imageshack.us/ and have gotten used to it. There are others that may be equally good or better.

After you upload your photo to the freebie site, just copy and post your image's specific URL, and people can check it out. Much easier than some forum sites' built-in photo galleries, in my opinion.

OK, maybe somebody will recognize it. Looks pre-war or immediately post-war to me.
