Borg Radio?
3/16/2007 4:13:31 PMDave Froehlich
Hello All,
Someone called me on the phone asking me about the Borg radio from Borg Radio Corp. in Chicago made in the 20s. The way the person described it, it had small tubes, held in place with a bayonet. I could only think of UX or UV-199s or WD-11s. There is no model number on the set.
Does anyone know of such a brand?

Thanks,

Dave

I find references to a Rauland-Borg radio and also Borg before it became Borg-Warner. There are lots of Borg references in Germany (radios, stations, etc) so it might be foreign-made.

Could it be a crystal radio? Check this web site:

Terry,
The person said there were peanut tubes in it like WD-11s or UX or UV 199s. I don't think it was a crystal set. It has tuning capacitors as well.

Thanks,

Dave
