This sounds like a "Radio Products Corp." Model 7G. The original used a 6G5 tuning eye, which the 6U5 is a substitution for. It had 8 pushbuttons, 6 presets, to the left of them were the manual tuning and shortwave switches. Above them were the switch/volume, tone and selector knobs The leftmost button pushed in sets shortwave mode, which the selector knob is the tuning for, it does not work with the presets. The next button to the right is the "manual" button, it puts the set in broadcast mode and tuning is done by the selector. The six presets have a small screw below each one for tuning. The adjusting screws are behind the "Call Letter" windows, if they are still with the set. The set would have been manufactured around 1938.
