If they are not able to supply the information soon enough, your most common sources of failure are the Horizontal Output Transistor (HOT), which will be the big one on the heatsink, usually a TO-3. These often breakdown, and are fairly easy to test with any meter, as they either open completely, or they short out (lose diode effect of the transistor).
The other failure is the capacitors in the switching power supplies, the moderate value caps with working voltages from 180 to 350 WVDC (usually 3- 40 Mfd). Replacements should be kept to the same capacity, but higher working voltage.
