:Recently purchased a Philco battery powered signal generator, with a 1C6 tube. Don't see a model number, any ideas on a schematic for this?

Since the unit was using an 1C6, and using THAT particular tube, possibly, with them typically of the mind set of
wiring it up in the same manner that it was used in a common local oscillator circuit. Since you already know the
set was using a 45V B+ supply. Then, its companion "A" filament battery supply could be fulfilled with two series
connected "D" cells and a paralleling of 15 and 18 ohm 1 watt resistors which then would be series connected to
accomplish the final drop of 1V@ 120 ma to feed the tube its proper filamental power level.
Who's to say that the initial attempt of only using a single fresh "D" cell might pinch for initial testing purposes ?
Along with a string of the yellow 2/$1.00 9 V batteries from Dollar General, their caps alternatively series snapped
together to get that 90 V B+ voltage. (Say fella...would you like to contribute $5.00 towards the battery pool ?)
Some how I believe that generator unit just may be still working, just tune in a moderate strength AM station on a
portable radio and bring its ferri loop antenna up close to the sig gen and slowly sweep the gen thru the AM spectrum
and see if you don't come up with a descending-zero-ascending tone (birdie) as you tune into and out of its tuned frequency.
First thing to check if THAT doesn't check out, is to see if there is/are oxidized band switch contacts that need to be
cleaned.
Let us know what you find out.

It's a Model 088. I have info. Use the Schematic Info page on my site, The Philco Repair Bench.

Brian,
The "A" battery is 3 volts and the "B" battery is 67-1/2 volts, per the schematic. Still holding this info for you. Order thru the Schematic Info page on my site.
